You might try one of
these Planet Waves capos with the adjustable tension. It's still trigger style. I got one for my Taylor due to the neck profile and it works perfectly.
There are older model capos that have multiple bars with each one being a different radius which may help fix that problem as well. I have one around the house but I've had it for 15+ years and have no idea what the make/model is as there is no label on it.
