Personally, Id go with the Schecter. I have not tried either guitar but I have tried a few guitars from each brand and bought an Ltd/Esp a few years ago. It was a $600 instrument and within only a couple months the neck had twisted despite trying to have it corrected and it had an ugly mineral spot on the back of the neck as well. I understand that an company can make a faulty instrument but I have heard of other stories similar to mine on lower end Ltd's. While I dont own a Schecter I would feel much more comfortable owning one of their instruments than a ltd.
