Jazz strings are typically "flat-wound" versus your standard "round-wound" strings. That's the first thing to look for on the packaging. Some people love flatwound strings, they have a wonderfully smooth tone and reduce string-noise something fierce. On the flip-side, they are hard as hell to bend and sound almost too mellow to get really good crunch / heavy sounds out of.

13-56 would be horrifically uncomfortable to me (and I grew up playing 11-52 in regular E tuning) bending strings like a crazy man. For Drop C they might be enough, though you might want to replace the 13 with an 11 and move the 13 to the B. You're really going to have to experiment to find the right mix of tension and feel for what you're going for.
