thanks alot, man! that forum will really help me alot. i guess i could have searched myself but it was late and i just needed a quick piece of advice.

well, i guess i should have narrowed down what i was looking for. i'm wanting to just record my guitar and a bass guitar and use a drum program for the drums. it sort of a steve vai (how it's recorded and such not written or played) sort of project but i want it to be good enough to send to a mastering house and get it put on a glass master to be mass produced. i want absolute control over the music and i want it to sound good. i may or may not go professional with this, it's just something i want to play around with to get more into it. but i want it to sound good. anymore advice will be greatly appreciated.
