Cheese, I think what *might* have happened is the kid found the gun on the counter/table and grabbed it upside down, barrel top facing the floor, kids hands/fingers gripping the hand grip and maybe her thumb/finger went through the trigger area, she grips tighter to hold the thing because it's heavier than a controller and in doing so squeezes the trigger.
I can imagine what you're saying and I just don't think that's what happened. Either way this is a tragedy that didn't have to happen.
