AzzMan has a spectacular aura about
Overdriving a Vox AC30

I played a Vox AC30CC212 (Some such like that) at Guitar Center today and sort of fell in love with the tone. Only one problem- I couldn't play it with the volume above 1 and that wasn't sufficient to drive the tubes enough to get a real distortion tone out of it. Not trying to get anything too crazy, just something Funeral For a Friend-ish or equivalent. I don't know if that's doable, but I think it should be. If not, what should I be looking at comparably? I really don't think the 5150/6505 route is entirely for me anymore, or I'd at least like to look at some other stuff first. I love my EMGs and my high gain amps, but the majority of the music I play doesn't really call for so much ballsy metal distortion.
