Thank you 7slinger for the great advice and suggestions. I am recording in my basement. The room is not treated but there's something about it that I just don't know. I've been to low budget studios, played shows, and jammed at a variety of places both big, small, open, cluttered, soundproofed, etc. and I'm still convinced that the acoustics in my basement are better than most places. Of course I am a recording noob and I have heard various stories of rooms sounding amazing, but then they had trouble getting the room sound to the recorded sound. I'll defintiely look into it. Thanks!
