Some of it is. I might point to the Roots -- live band making that music, not a DJ or a sampler. There are other examples too, but that's probably the most popular.

It's like everything else for me. Some of it I quite enjoy, and some of it makes me want to punch myself in the nuts repeatedly. There are exceptions, but generally speaking I tend to lean towards the stuff from the late 80's and early 90s, Which is kind of hilarious because when that music was actually around I was pretty busy saying stuff like ".... that rap shit! Metallica forever!"
