oh yeah, i know about OD pedals, i use one to tighten it up a bit and add a bit more aggression to the amp, great little boxes

the thread had alot of discussion about putting a patch cable in the fx loop as a boost tho, thats jsut what i assume he was talking about (JSX regains favour)

I run mine with the master volume up at 5 and then I dial in the channel volume, to me mine sounds thicker this way.
engaging the loop also thickens the sound up as well (I don't know why but it does).
also turn the onboard noise gate no higher than 5-8 as that is one of the controls on this amp that can add a "nasally" tone to the sounds.
experiment with th mid control anywhere between 4-7, it drastically changes the tone of the amp, It really opens up at around 6 or so.
yeah i konw what you're talking about with the noise gate, i hated the way it messed with the tone, so i just leave it off (not too much noise anyway, i can deal with it)

and yeah, i'm gona have to mess with the mids knob a bit, i'll try that out tomorrow (a bit late right now)

and i forgot to list bands i like, mainly i'm going for a tone similar to Nevermore, Alter Bridge, Chevelle, and i guess some Strapping Young Lad (although devys tone can be rather harsh and overly thin/tight at times)
