For one I don't really understrand impulses or know what they are
but I will say I like your tones quite a bit. The one with impulses is pretty brutal it doesn't sound too thin IMO. I know it was a tone test, but the drums (if louder) would make a world of difference in the overall sound of the guitars. Also EQing and compression would change the sound. Boost some mids to give it more punch or try double-tracking...I really liked the riff as well bro. Keep it up!
