Tubescreamer is a must, 0 drive, bout 40 gain, and 100% tone IMO. As for cabs, green 25s will give you a really organic, shithot tube sound with lots of bite, very thrash metal, where-as the line 6 4x10 (that's right, the line6 4x10!) gives you a really fuckin ridiculously heavy modern Meshuggah/Mnemic sorta sound.

People ask me all the time if i've got the metal upgrade and the answer, quite simply, is no. I'm sure the metal pack is amazing, but i get some fuckin fabulous tones out of the xt with no upgrade. That's not to say i'm not gonna do it haha, i just can't afford it at the mo!
