| Yeah, if you set the metronome to 3/4 you're going to have the first beat in 7/8 offset by one eighth note each time. You can set most metronomes to have either the accent on the 7th beat or on no beat at all; in a DAW you set the time signature with the tempo. Look up 'time signature' in Audacity's help; I'm sure it can be done there.
