So yesterday I got hit with bad GAS so I decided to buy these monitors I'd been eyeing. Samson Rubicon 6as:
I'm seriously digging them. Until now my 'monitoring system' has been a really crappy $40 pair of Sony headphones that sound simply terrible, and these were what I'd make my guitar tone through and do all of the mixing from start to finish on- the only way to hear my mix through speakers was to bounce it, upload it, and play it on a different computer. So working with actual monitors is a whole different game!
I remade all my guitar tones and drum sounds and recorded Spheres of Madness by Decapitated. I used my 7s in Ab, the Agile with the Lundgren on one side and the 607b on the other. Both sides of guitar are in one take each, and doing such a quick A/B really illustrated that I like my Agile a lot more than the 607b!
I'll throw vocals on this... y'know, someday. Until then you get to listen to my trial instrumental mix. thanks for listening
