Because there is an income cap on it. If you make above a certain amount, it starts to roll off. Why do we need to send the higher income levels more money? I'm not getting anything, either.
What makes this fucked up is that it does not take location into consideration. Matt and I live in one of the most expensive areas in the country, and we get nothing. Yet, there is some dude making $75,000, living in BFE, North Dakota who gets his money, even though his salary is through the roof out there.
This is all just political posturing during an election year. Rather than sending out checks, I rather they stop sending checks to Iraq, start paying off our federal budget deficit, making the money I do have worth more than Charmin double-ply.
