I'm one of the few that like the Powerball better than the Fireball. The Fireball just sounded soooo thin to me when it was cranked. The stock Powerball was a death metal monster but not much else. I retubed it and it made it a lot better! If you're in a band with a recto, 5150, or something of the likes on the other side of the stage the Powerball will most likely get buried unless you have an EQ in the loop to boost some mids. I had my mid knob almost dimed on it and I still put an MXR 10-band in the loop, boosted some high mids, and tamed some fizz with the last slider. After all of this it was a finely tuined tone machine capable of almost anything! But that's a lot of work Just get an SE. You know you want to.
