| In America if you repeat the lie loud enough and often enough people will believe it. For example, lots of people think George Bush is a Texan. When in fact he was born in Connecticut and went to Ivy Legaue schools. But the bullshit was spread so thick and so few people fact check anything , including and most frustratingly the media, that shit like that lives. Just like Obama is a Muslim.
As someone who has dealt with these people on a regualr basis the best tactic is to stick to the facts and remain calm. Once you get into a shouting match filled with innusendo and bullshit it's all over. You might as well be yelling apple pie recipes at each other.
In so far as agnostics go I have no problem with them. At least they know they might be wrong. I'm a practicing Catholic and I'll admit I could be wrong. I have no proof only faith and that doesn't make for a really good argument but this is the choice I have made and I'm happy with it. As long as you're open to ideas and don't look down on others ideas it's all good. This is my main complaint with a lot of atheists and fundamentalists. They presume correctness and everyone else just sucks. It's a dangerous place to put yourself.
I have learned to divied the world up much as Arlo Guthrie did into two camps. Those who give a damn and those who don't. The only proof he needed for the existance of God was music.
Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Without music, life would be a mistake.
