I haven't gotten any hate for it for several years. About 3 and a half years ago, an older guitarist I knew said, "Seven-strings? Yeah, I remember those. Those are what those fucking Korn fans are into right. No, I'm not into that kind of stuff." and I said, "Dude, it's a fucking guitar. Adding an extra string doesn't disable you from doing anything" and then I had him listen to "Zombie Autopilot" by Unearth and he completely changed his mind.

Since then, the response has been mostly positive or just interest. The most recent was at my band's last live performance when I pulled out my RG7EXFX2 and a guitarist from another band came over and just stared at it for a few seconds before saying anything, "Dude, that's a seven-string, isn't it?" and I just kinda nodded and he said, "It looks huge." and I said, "Probably because it's a baritone." and his eyes got bigger, "You mean it's got an extra string AND it's longer?" and I just kind of laughed.

Most of my recent responses fall more along those lines.
