Boss GT-Pro vs G-Major

I seem to be having some issues programming decent patches with the G-Major. It also seems like it completely sucks the life out of my tone. I imagine it's mostly due to me not being familiar at all with the interface and how to program it. I am familiar with my GT-6 and how to program patches, so I'm just wondering how much better the effects on the G-Major are in comparison to the GT series if at all? I might snag a GT-Pro so I can still control everything with my MIDI controller up front and not run a bunch of cords.
