That was my first guitar, a 1998 AX7521GP. I've owned 3 more since then as well, and I actually really like the AX7521. It's a very comfortable guitar to play, and definitely has a thicker tone due to the Mahogany body.
I've owned one of the AX7221s as well, and the quality is definitely not there. You can find a 'diamond in the rough' and get a good AX7221, but it's pretty unlikely.
